According to fresh reports Google is all set to unveil its smartwatch aka Gem to take on Samsung Galaxy Gear and Apple iWatch soon – probably before end of the month.
According to 9to5Google, Google is putting finishing touches to its smartwatch and sources close to the matter claim that the smartwatch may feature Google Now-like functionality. Some of the features expected in Google smartwatch include home, Calendar alarms, emails, SMSes, longer battery, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and health monitoring sensors among others.
Earlier it was expected that Google Gem will be launched on October 31 alongside Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat, but the new report claims that will happen “sooner rather than later.”
A smartwatch from Google directly will not only instill confidence in Android developers, but it will give the search engine giant a head start in terms of wearable gadgets as it is said that Apple will be releasing its iWatch sometime in 2014.
