Apple has closed iOS 8.1 signing window thereby shuttering the iOS 8.1.1 to iOS 8.1 downgrade door on compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models.
iOS 8.1.1 is compatible with all iPhones staring 4S through to 6 Plus; all iPads starting iPad 2 through to recently unveiled iPad mini 3; and iPod touch 5th generation.
The release of iOS 8.1.1 closed off at least one loophole exploited by the Pangu Jailbreak team in their iOS 8.1 jailbreak thereby rendering their tool unusable on iOS 8.1.1. This is an obvious reason why many opted not to upgrade to iOS 8.1.1 or decided to downgrade to iOS 8.1 post the iOS 8.1.1 update.
However, we reported earlier that TaiG – a china-based iOS jailbreaking team – has already managed to find enough bugs to create an untethered iOS 8.1.1 jailbreak. Along with that they have also claimed that they have successfully jailbroken iOS 8.2 beta, which is still in the works and only available to developers.
