iOS 8 has been around since just over a month and Chinese jailbreaking team Pangu has already released a tool that jailbreaks iOS 8 and iOS 8.1 on all iDevices including iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
iOS 8.1 jailbreak came out earlier than it did for iOS 7.1, but those looking to jailbreak their iOS 8 devices should keep a couple of things in mind. First and foremost the warranty of your devices will be void. Further, Cydia isn’t bundled with the jailbreak because is it not yet ready for iOS 8; however, Saurik – the active developer of Cydia – has assured that Cydia for iOS 8 will be released soon as he is still working on it.
The jailbreak can be dubbed as a developer release as it will allow app developers for jailbroken devices to update their tweaks to be compatible with OS 8.
The iOS 8 jailbreak tool from Pangu currently works with Windows systems only and a Mac release should follow soon. Also there is no English version of the tool, but considering that the tool doesn’t ask for much interaction except for a few button presses, it shouldn’t prevent users from jailbreaking their devices.
The team has said that their iOS 8 jailbreak will work on all iOS 8 and iOS 8.1 devices including iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad mini 3, and iPad Air 2, as well as older devices like the iPhone 5s and iPad Air.
