A filing with the US FCC as well as a purported image leaked online [below] by @upleaks has revealed a little more about HTC’s alleged Nexus 9 tablet.
Although the filing documents do not mention the name ‘Nexus 9’, it lists a tablet numbered 0P82100, which has been rumored to be the model number that any HTC-made device bears.
The leaked picture showcases the HTC logo below the Nexus branding and a camera in the top corner and the LED flash. The alleged Nexus 9 tablet in the image is seen to incorporate the same soft-touch material currently used in the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7.
Previous rumors claim the upcoming Nexus 9 will feature an 8.9-inch display with QHD screen resolution, Nvidia Tegra K1 64-bit processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, external storage support for 128GB, 100GB of Google Drive storage for two years and the much-awaited Android L – rumoured to be called Android Lemon Meringue Pie (LMP).
The tablet is expected to feature an 8-megapixel camera at the back with optical image stabilization, and a 3-megapixel camera at the front.
Other features of the tablet, which are rumoured, include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 16GB and 32GB of storage options and inbuilt stereo-speakers. Rumors suggest the Nexus 9 could come with a price tag starting at $399, going up to $600+ for the highest capacity LTE model.
Rumors suggest Google could release both Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 around the same time in late October or early November.
