EE has extended its 4G coverage to another 18 towns across the UK, taking the total number of 4G connected towns to 281, covering more than 75 percent of the UK population.
Abingdon, Ashton-In-Makerfield, Brownhills, Corringham, Faversham, Fleetwood, Formby, Hebburn, Helensburgh, Hoddesdon, Holywood, Hythe, Prestatyn, Spennymoor, Tilbury, Waltham Abbey and Wombourne are the new towns, along with Sandhurst, home of the Royal Military Academy, where the EE’s 4G service has also been switched on today.
The UK mobile operator aims to offer 4G access to almost 98 percent of the UK by the end of this year.
EE brand director Spencer McHugh said that the company’s ongoing 4G roll out means that the customers have access to by far the biggest network in the country. Whether they are at work or on the go, 4GEE lets the customers do so much more.
McHugh added that from superfast web browsing to streaming HD video, even the most disciplined people won’t be able to resist getting on their mobile.
EE also announced a new mobile plan dubbed ‘Business Connect’, starting at £10 per month, on Monday that will allow companies to easily add or remove SIMs to their business contacts for a minimum of 30 days usage to deal with the increase in customer demand and expansion of operations.
The mobile operator was recently voted as the best UK network in terms of mobile internet, call, and text performance in a survey carried out by Rootmetrics.
