Rumours are afloat claiming that Apple will be releasing iPad Air 2 as early as next month and will be introducing a 12.9-inch iPad Pro in 2015.
According to a report on G for Games the iPad Pro will be powered by the A8x chip with enhanced graphic abilities more akin to the ones being used in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This chipset falls in the same family as the A5x and A6x.
It is known that Apple had shied away from using generic iPad ‘X’ naming convention last year with introduction of iPad Air and Retina iPad mini with minor changes to the clock speed. Following the same convention, the larger iPad will be called iPad Pro, the report claims.
The report reiterates its previous claims of iPad Air 2 sporting 2GB RAM, which is twice that of the current generation iPad Air, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus mobile handsets.
The strategy it is claimed will help to distinguish the iPad Air 2 from the Retina iPad mini which will continue with its current RAM of 1 GB.
The iPad Pro, in all likelihood, will be much thinner and have a completely revamped speaker grille. Another notable change is that it may have a Touch ID. Apple’s iPad Air 2 will in all probability hit the stands in couple months, but Pro enthusiasts will have to wait until the dawn of 2015 to have it.
