Similar to the previous instances when newly launched Apple devices received criticism, the Apple Watch is being criticized as being too thick based on the images and videos released so far. However, it turns out that Apple Watch is no thicker than a Rolex.
According to The Next Web, Apple watch is just 0.5 mm thicker than a Rolex Submariner 14060M. The watch measures 11 mm and a Swatch measures up to 10.5 mm thick that is roughly up to 1 mm thinner than Apple Watch.

From the pictures of the Apple Watch, it is perceived that it is too thick; however, the watch is not as thick as the pictures show. If we go by previous Apple launches, both the iPhone and iPad were perceived to be a lot thicker than they actually were.
But, once the two devices hit shelves and people managed to get their hands on one, they immediately realised that the products were a lot thinner than their image-based counterparts.
