We may probably never see iOS 7 jailbreak for A5+ iPhones, iPads. Here’s why!

Apple managed to grab a lot of eyeballs with its latest iOS 7 mobile OS update and one of the most obvious questions is when will we see an iOS 7 jailbreak? The answer to this question is rather tricky and we will come to that in a little while.

We would like to warn all our readers that all websites and jailbreakers who are claiming that they have a working iOS 7 jailbreak are all fakes or scams. If there is a working authentic jailbreak ever for iOS 7 powered devices, we will be reporting it on Techie News, but until then just stay away from those who claim to have a jailbreak with them.

Back to the jailbreak question. The primary requirement for a jailbreak is to find a vulnerability in the software (iOS 7) and probably the hardware A4 to A7 chips. The process of finding the vulnerability and then the writing code that can exploit it is a rather tedious job. The process involves use of low-level debugging tools through the use of a serial port.

Now it is not the first time that hackers will be wearing their jailbreaking hat, but the problem is that the exploit has to be large enough to give them persistent root access to the device. Further with each new update Apple patches all the vulnerabilities hackers have discovered and probably the ones that even hackers don’t know of.

This is exactly what happened to the evasi0n jailbreak after Apple launched 6.1.3. It patched all the vulnerabilities which evad3rs exploited in their jailbreak. There is no jailbreak for iOS 6.1.4 and there isn’t going to be one as we know for sure that evad3rs is not working on one.

Well known jailbreakers including MuscleNerd, Pod2g and other have already taken to twitter to inform that they are probing the iOS 7 for vulnerabilities to exploit for a successful jailbreak. Planetbeing on the other hand recently tweeted that evad3rs may have all the pieces needed to successfully deliver an iOS 7 jailbreak, but it will take time.

Pod2g tweeted that they are confident of the iOS 7 jailbreak, but that might not happen anytime soon. On the other hand 4s_pois0n has claimed that iOS 7 jailbreak for iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will take at least 6 months. This is a long time considering that jailbreak for iOS 6 was released on launch day. Six months for a jailbreak is a long shot and chances are that Apple may be bringing out updates to iOS 7 in the meantime including patches for vulnerabilities its security team may have discovered during their own reconnaissance.

So answer to the question of when will we see an iOS 7 jailbreak? Probably after 4-6 months from now or may be never!
