In a recent update, Google has added 64 bit support for its Chrome 37 browser rendering crisper text for laptops and tablets with high resolution displays.
Google Chrome 37 is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux users. The highlight of Chrome 37 is the DirectWrite support on Windows devices, which helps render crisper text for devices with ultra high resolution display. The latest version of Chrome also brings several other bug fixes with it.
Chrome update comes with patches for speed, stability and security issues. The updated version also includes new apps and extension APIs that will benefit developers. With these new inclusions, it helps not only developers to take advantage of the features but also users as the browser has become faster and offers better performance.
Google credits external researchers for most of the patches as several developers took interest in informing Google of the patches required and helping it fix them. Chrome 37 version with 64 bit support comes as an opt-in download.
While Google is already phasing out the Netscape Plug-in API, its Chrome 37 doesn’t support the extension. Google blocks it by default for several popular websites and is slowly killing it from use in general. Chrome 37 users might not find any difference using it even though it lacks Netscape API support.
