EE, one of the UK’s leading mobile operator companies, on Wednesday confirmed that its superfast mobile broadband 4G has finally reached Cornwall for the first time.
Saltash, with population of 15,000, has become the first Cornwall town to get 4G access. Adding Saltash to the list, EE now has a total of 250 towns under its 4G service umbrella.
Bellshill, Sutton in Ashfield, Gravesend, Craigavon, Tyldesley, Cheshunt, Swadlincote, Bishop’s Stortford, Leyland, Guiseley, Ballymena, Frimley, Ormskirk, Potter’s Bar, Banbridge, Nailsea, Keynsham, Armagh City, Strabane and Dungannon are some of the other UK towns where EE’s 4G network has been switched on starting Wednesday.

Olaf Swantee, CEO of EE, said that the arrival of 4G in Cornwall can be considered as a landmark achievement for the company as it works to expand superfast mobile internet reach to people in as many places as possible.
Swantee said that the company is aware of the benefits that consumers and businesses can avail using 4G. The company is working hard to bring decent mobile coverage to areas where those benefits can have an even greater impact.

Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, welcomed EE’s latest move saying that arrival of EE’s 4G mobile services in Saltash will be appreciated by local businesses and residents.
She said Saltash, being an attractive area to live, to work and to do business will be greatly benefitted from the arrival of latest generation of mobile technology. This part of Cornwall has become one of the best connected areas in the UK all thanks to EE’s 4G expansion efforts, Murrya added.
