Windows Phone 8.1 will bring with it a lot many new features and those who already have a developer preview of the yet-to-be-generally released mobile platform can try out Wi-Fi Sense – a feature that allows you to connect through to public hotspots automatically.
To locate the Wi-Fi Sense option, swipe right on your home screen and tap on Settings option. Scroll down to locate Wi-Fi option under the Systems tab; tap on Wi-Fi Sense and turn on the option that says “Connect to Wi-Fi hotspots”.
Once you turn this option on, the option to “Accept terms of use of me when required” will get enable. Putting a tick mark on this will allow your Lumia handset to accept any terms and conditions that are sent across by the hotspot provider on your behalf.
As soon as you put a tick mark on that option, you will see an ‘edit info’ button enabled. Tap on that and enter your name, email address and phone number. This will ensure that Wi-Fi sense will pass on the required information to the hotspot if required without bothering you.
That’s about it! You are all set to connect to a large number of public Wi-Fi hotspots for free without you having to do anything.
