MachineGames and Bethesda’s Wolfenstein: The New Order managed to top both the UK all formats chart as well as UK individual formats chart on its debut accounting for a quarter of all entertainment software units sales for the week.
According to data released by Gfk Chart-Track, Wolfenstein: The New Order accounted for a whopping 36 percent of all sales – only behind Microsoft’s Titanfall during its debut – and is the only ‘Wolfenstein’ that has managed to ace the UK charts.
Breaking down the sales number for individual consoles, Wolfenstein for PS4 accounted for 38 percent sales followed by Xbox One with 31 percent sales, Xbox 360 version at 12 percent, and 11 percent for PC. Gfk hasn’t released data from PS3 sales, but we can assume it is well below the 11 percent PC sales.
Elsewhere, Minecraft: PS3 Edition climbed one position to no. 2 with 49 percent increase in sales week-on-week, while EA’s FIFA 14 was relegated to third position.
Titanfall was also down two places to no. 3 while 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil fell to fifth position.
