LG confirms G Flex screen bumps issue
LG has confirmed that some of its G Flex smartphones are affected by a possible defect because of which bumps appear on screen of the smartphone.
According to a Korean publication LG has acknowledged that there is indeed an issue; however, it doesn’t affect the performance of the handset.
“Because key components inside the G Flex such as the glass cover, OLED display, battery and frame are elastic, excessive or frequent force that flattens the device may produce bumps,” LG said in a statement to Korea Times.
Further the company claims that the bumps will disappear over time or if affected customers press down on them.
LG was allegedly already aware of the issue beforehand and was hesitant to launch G Flex. According to a Korea Display Industry Association official, “LG Electronics was rather hesitant in releasing its curved-screen smartphone, as it was previously aware of some technical problems.”
“LG should have notified consumers ahead of the product launch”, the official added.
