Nokia is yet to announce a smartwatch of its own, but new design concepts have already started surfacing on the web and some of them are definitely aesthetically pleasing if not stunning.
Nokia presence at the CES 2014 wasn’t about great product launches or announcements and we are inclined to believe that MWC 2014 would be no different considering the impending acquisition by Microsoft.
However, chances are the Nokia may join the smartwatch bandwagon soon to rival the likes of Sony who has already launched a couple of smartwatches. Samsung already has Galaxy Gear and one of the senior executives of the South Korean company has already confirmed the launch of Gear 2 alongside the Galaxy S5 sometime in April.
Launching a smartwatch that is compatible with all Lumia smartphones at MWC 2014 could very well help the Finnish giant garner a fair share of the pie in a growing segment.
Jonas Dae, who goes by the Twitter handle @PhoneDesigner, has developed stunning concept of a Nokia smartwatch based on previous leaks. The concept smartwatch doesn’t have any physical buttons and packs a full touchscreen interface with notifications such as missed calls, messages / emails, music, Whatsapp, Skype, among others. The designer proposed support for wireless charging as well.
