EE is offering its new home TV service, dubbed EE TV, to new and existing EE mobile customers and those who opt for a minimum £9.95 home broadband plan, they will get it for free.
The EE TV smart box – worth £300 – offers access to more than 70 Freeview channels (with 13 in HD), on demand and catch-up TV offerings including iPlayer, Demand Five, YouTube and more than 10,000 TV series and movies. The service will also include BBC Sport, BBC News, The Weather Network, MUZU, Box + and other internet applications at launch.
EE TV boasts ‘Multiscreen’ feature which allows users to watch four different live (or recorded) shows across four different devices (TV, smartphone or tablet) simultaneously. ‘MultiRecord’ feature allows users to record up to four separate programmes simultaneously, while there’s also a ‘Replay’ feature which enables users to view the last 24 hours of TV from their favorite channels, and presents shows by genres or channels.
Equipped with a 1TB hard drive, the EE TV set-top box is capable of recording up to 600 hours in standard definition, claims EE.
