Dubbed as the Karbonn A50S, the pocket friendly smartphone offers everything one can expect from a handset costing four times more. Manufactured in India, the Karbonn A50S, launched initially last month, has been available only in the Indian market until now.
With the UK release, Brits, who love to save bucks, can now order the budget-friendly handset online and get it delivered to their home directly. The smartphone is expected to conquer the international markets with its first international release in UK.
Powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, the Karbonn A50S features a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 pixel touch screen display, 256MB RAM, plus 512MB internal storage, front and rear cameras. The low cost smartphone runs Android Jelly Bean and comes preinstalled with Google Maps and Gmail. The handset features 2 Sim-card slots which will enable the user to swap between 2 networks and 2 phone numbers. It will work on most UK networks with a pay-as-you-go Sim card.
Brits interested in giving the handset a try can order for a Karbonn A50S by first registering with an Indian courier firm using a local postal address either of their friends or relatives living in India. They can then buy the smartphone online and get it delivered to the address in India and forward it finally to their UK address.
While getting the Karbonn A50S delivered in the UK will cost around £20, there is no need to pay for any import duty as for the handset being extremely cheap.
The low cost smartphone is also set to go on sale in other international markets including Australia, South Africa and New Zealand in the months to come.
