WhatsApp has promised voice calling feature through its app sometime in 2014, but new screenshots indicate that folks over at the messaging company have already incorporated the feature and are probably at advanced stages of testing.
Leaked by iPhoneItalia, the images show an interface of WhatsApp closely resembling the messaging app’s design in iOS 7. The screenshot shows ‘mute’, ‘message’ and ‘speaker buttons’ arranged in a single row with a red call button lined up nicely below the three buttons.

WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum had promised a few weeks back that the voice calling feature will first be rolled out to iPhone and Android users following by Windows Phone and BlackBerry users.

One other key change visible in the screenshot is the location of the camera button. The option that allows users to attach photos to messages will now be located right above the keyboard rather than being hidden under the ‘more’ button.
WhatsApp has already updated its app to address privacy concerns of users globally by adding a new Privacy tab under settings allowing users to configure backup, hide ‘last seen’, and visibility of ‘profile photo’ and ‘status’.
With 465 million global active users, the voice calling on WhatsApp will be a huge disrupting feature for other messaging apps as well as mobile operators across the globe.
