LG has announced a trio of Windows 8 powered systems – an Ultra PC ultrabook, Tab-Book 2 tablet and an all-in-one desktop – ahead of their slated CES 2014 launch.
LG said that the new systems feature slimmer designs, latest IPS display technology, weigh less than their predecessors with minimalistic form factor, and run Windows 8 operating system.
The Ultra PC (Model 13Z940) ultrabook is powered by Intel ‘Haswell’ Core i5 processor and will come in two storage options – 128GB or 256GB SSD. The ultrabook is lighter than the 11-inch MacBook Air at just 980 grams. The 13.3-inch full HD IPS display of the Ultra PC features LG’s Super Narrow Bezel design. The ultrabook also comes with ‘reader’ that the company claims helps reduce eyestrain and power consumption by altering the background of any onscreen image to resemble paper.
Next up it’s the Tab-Book 2 that features an 11.6-inch full-HD IPS display, 10-point touch control, Intel Core i5 processor, and slide-out QWERTY keyboard. LG has announced two models of the Tab-Book 2 (11T740 and 11T540) and both will run on Windows 8.1.
The LG AIO PC boasts packs a huge 27-inch full-HD display, runs Windows 8.1, and features Nvidia’s GeForce GT 740M graphics card. LG is also going to offer a remote along with the AIO allowing users to easily switch to TV mode without restarting the PC.
Lambro Skropidis, General Marketing Manager at LG Electronics Australia, said “Lightweight and beautifully designed, the latest PC products from LG are set to offer greater versatility for consumers looking to digest content on-the-go.”
“The new generation of PC products from LG will enable users to find the ideal computer for their needs, whether it is for work or entertainment”, he added.
