As anticipated, Evad3rs have sent out Christmas wishes by removing the TaiG package from Evasi0n iOS 7 jailbreak while Saurik has worked on Cydia to make it more compatible with iOS 7.
The latest iOS 7 jailbreak stirred up a huge controversy because of two major reasons – inclusion of TaiG app store which is known to distribute pirated apps and inclusion of an untested version of Cydia. Evad3rs were at the receiving end of wrath of a huge jailbreaking community because of its decision and they had to remotely disable the app from getting installed hours after the jailbreak was released.
Further, the team also had to send out an open letter apologizing for their decisions with a promise that they will make things right.
The jailbreaking team delivered according to their promises and Pod2g, one of the members of Evad3rs, has confirmed that they have updated Evasi0n7 to version 1.0.1 and TaiG has been removed. “We have heard the community. Evasi0n 1.0.1 is available on http://evasi0n.com . TaiG has been removed from the package. Merry Christmas!” tweeted Pod2g.
Earlier, the iOS security researcher also tweeted that Cydia was updated for better iOS 7 compatibility. “For those who don’t already know, Cydia has been updated for a better iOS 7 compatibility! Thanks to @saurik!”
Saurik also confirmed the news with a tweet of his own “I want to make certain a big thank you goes out to @rpetrich, @Surenix, and @kylematthews, without whose help Cydia 1.1.9 would have sucked.”
The updated jailbreak tool now matches iOS 7’s minimalistic flat UI while the mobile platforms swipe-based navigation appears to run faster. Check out the video below
