Korean media is abuzz with reports that Samsung is prepping for the launch of a 10.5-inch AMOLED tablet it has been working on for quite some time now and it will intro the new slate at CES 2014 next month.
According to a report on ETNews, which managed to get hold of a shipping manifest, Samsung’s latest 10.5-inch gadget is internally known as SM-T331 and could very well be the bigger-screened sibling of the Galaxy Tab 4. Both these tablets are pegged at being high-end tablet models and are likely to be pitched directly against the iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display.
The latest report is definitely not in line with what has been going about in the rumour world. Reports claimed that Samsung will be launching two tablets: 8-inch and a 10-inch model.
No other information about the internal hardware or the build type is available yet, but if AMOLED display reports are true, the new tablet(s) might not be as budget-friendly as its predecessors. Further the shipping manifest pegs the price of each units at Rs. 33,884, which is equivalent to £345 or $550.
