Google has revealed that it has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update to Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Play edition smartphones starting Monday night.
Being rolled out in a staggered fashion, the update might not hit your phones straight away or on the same day. Google announced the rollout through a Google+ post: “Starting today, Samsung GS4 and HTC One Google Play edition devices are getting an update to Android 4.4!”
Some of the features of Android 4.4 KitKat include an improved UI, faster multitasking, easier file access, immersive mode, printing, merging of your MMS and SMS messages on Hangouts, closed captioning, remote wipe through Android Device Manager, improved camera app, longer battery life and more. One feature won’t be available on these smartphones though even after updating to KitKat and it is the Voice activated search using “OK, Google.” This feature is only supported on Nexus 5 with the Google Experience launcher.
