Battlefield 4 has had a fair share of launch hiccups and it seems that issues are going to stay for a while as its servers are under heavy DDoS attack.
DICE has confirmed the attack through the game’s official blog stating that the game’s servers are currently under attack which is resulting into an impact on the online gameplay on PC version of BattleField 4. “We are working on mitigating actions”, the message read.
Another DICE staffer took to the forums stating “Hi guys, we are being targeted by a DDOS, but working on fixing it asap. Im sorry somebody is ruining your and my day. Rest assured we are doing our best to mitigate the situation though.”
Chances are most of the users won’t be even noticing the DDoS as they have already been getting a fair share of connectivity issues since the game launched. Some of the most common issues reported by users on Game’s forum, Twitter and other such medium included ‘connection lost’ issues and server crashes – well before the servers were under DDoS attacks.
EA reportedly switched to a master server soon after it detected DDoS attacks, but users are now facing routing issues with a message that reads “routing problem occurred while switching to new master server, we are working on a fix.”
