China-based outfit TaiG has released a tool that not only jailbreaks iOS 8.1.1, but also iOS 8.2 beta.
The TaiG jailbreak works on all iDevices on which iOS 8.1.1 works including iPhone 4S through to iPhone 6/6 Plus; iPad 2 through to the iPad Air 2; all iPad Minis; and the 5th generation iPod Touch. MuscleNerd of Team evad3rs confirmed the release through a tweet: “Looks like TaiG just released a jailbreak for 8.1.1 (and 8.0,8.1,8.2beta). Best to wait a few days just in case.”
TaiG jailbreak tool for iOS 8.1.1 and iOS 8.2 beta is only available for Windows currently, but we believe that the jailbreakers will release a Mac based tool as well.
Those looking for iOS 8.1.1 jailbreak should find TaiG handy considering that Apple closed at least one hole exploited by Pangu jailbreak tool when it released iOS 8.1.1.
However, iOS 8.2 beta jailbreak wouldn’t mean a lot to non-developers considering that Apple has released iOS 8.2 beta only to developers and by the time it will make a general release, we expect Apple to patch the holes exploited by TaiG.
