Earlier there was a tweet from the same account that Windows 10 will be rolled out to all Lumia smartphones spawning questions on whether Microsoft will leave out other Windows Phone 8 devices in the cold to freeze by not rolling out an upgrade?
“There will be Windows 10 upgrades for all Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices : ) And we will release new Windows 10 models in the future!” read the tweet from official Lumia account at the time.
The latest clarification will come as a relief to those using Windows Phone 8 devices manufactured by other vendors.

We are not sure how to interpret this and the prior tweet as far as Windows Phone 8 successor is concerned. The reason behind out dilemma is that Microsoft hasn’t used the terms ‘Windows Phone 10’, but has instead stuck to Windows 10 only. This leaves us to speculate whether Redmond is working on a single OS to cater to all devices – be it smartphones, tablets, and PCs or whether it was a typo.
