Apple has already seeded iOS 8.1.1 beta to developers and it won’t be long before it rolls out the final version of iOS 8.1.1 generally to all iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users. The update contains some bug-fixes and comes with some enhancements, but one thing that stands out is that Pangu iOS 8.0-8.1 jailbreak doesn’t work on iOS 8.1.1.
Jailbreak developers have already tested iOS 8.0-8.1 jailbreak on iOS 8.1.1 beta and according to them users should stay away from iOS 8.1.1 as Apple has plugged at least one exploit used by Pangu team.
“Apple has released a beta for developers of iOS 8.1.1, which apparently fixes at least one of the exploits used by the Pangu jailbreak” reads a reddit post.
The news has been confirmed by Pangu Team as well as evad3rs. For this reason, users who aren’t facing any issues with iOS 8.1 should stay with the OS rather than update to iOS 8.1.1.
Those who want to have a jailbroken iOS 8.1 device should ideally put their device on iOS 8.1 now, so that if Apple does release iOS 8.1.1 you won’t be affected because as soon as Cupertino releases iOS 8.1.1, it will stop signing iOS 8.1.
