HTC has already announced that it will be rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update update to its devices within 90 days of Google rolling out the mobile OS and now we have word that quite a few HTC devices will be receiving the update.
According to LlabTooFer below are the HTC devices that will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update gradually:
- HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) are the first to get Android 5.0 by late November-December. For Sense based devices, the timeframe is January-February next year
- HTC Desire EYE, HTC One (M8) Dual SIM, HTC One (M7) Dual SIM, HTC One (E8), HTC One (E8) Dual SIM and HTC Butterfly 2 would receive updates in January-March
- HTC One Mini 2, Desire 816 more likely to get updates in March-April
- HTC One Max, HTC One Mini and HTC Butterfly S most likely to receive update in March-May
It’s worth mentioning that this is just HTC’s plan, they may bring change to this, based on future Android 5.0 Lollipop updates, and it may vary from region to region.
To recap, Android L new feature includes Material Design along with a new lock screen that comes with notifications and multiple user accounts as well as a guest user mode. The Android 5.0 will also allow you to secure your device with a PIN, password, pattern, or even by pairing your phone to a trusted Bluetooth connection. There will be a brand new multitasking menu and a lot more ways to use your voice.
