While many Apple fans are still waiting to get their hands on the recently launched iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple is reportedly all set to unveil iPad Air 2 at a media event scheduled for October 16th, according to sources privy to the matter.
The Michael Report has obtained the specs and images of the iPad Air 2 to be released from an anonymous source from Apple. The report says that mass production for the Ai r 2 has already begun and hence the leaked specs are believed to be unchanged.
The iPad Air 2 is said to come with a laminated display making the device thinner than the original iPad Air by 0.5mm and Apple is expected to announce it as the thinnest tablet available. There are also other changes in the design. As expected previously, the double speaker grilles are combined into a single grille. The volume buttons are recessed and the microphone is shifted from the top to a slot beside the back camera.
The mute toggle is said to be done away with which is a major change receiving some skepticism. Some of the features announced with the latest devices such as the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and Apple Pay are said to have made way into the device.
The bezel is said to be the same without any change. It is said that the device will pack an A8 processor offering 2 GB of RAM and in-built memory options of 32, 64, 128 GB. The rear camera is expected to be an 8MP camera and a HD front facing camera.
Although Apple is not expected to offer a 16GB iPad Air 2, the Retina iPad Mini that is expected to make its debut alongside the Air 2 is said to have a 16GB option.
