Title updates for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 have hit their respectively platforms and Rockstar has announced that the patches fix ten known issues that online players were suffering from.
GTA Online was launched on October 1 and within hours of going live, buckled under pressure of immense load because of the number of players trying to join online gameplay sessions. Players started reporting that the game wasn’t behaving normally with frequent disconnects and server not found errors. Rockstar had already warned users prior to launching GTA Online that the servers will be temperamental for a couple of weeks until it resolves all the teething issues that may crop up during the initial days of the launch.
In its latest newswire update, Rockstar as confirmed that title update for both the platform are now live and that they come with fixes for issues wherein session were getting stuck before the Mall or Nothing race in the online tutorial; incorrect amount of cash was being dropped if a player dies during a mission; character switch wheel was disappearing after a failed load; temporary characters were overwriting main characters; and story mode missions were being missed in some instances; among others.
Rockstar has also noted that the updates bring with them “Several tweaks to GTA Online including improving overall stability.”
The GTA Online maker has acknowledged that some users are still reporting instances wherein gameplay progress is being lost and that it is actively investigating the root cause of the issue. “We are working diligently to identify and correct the causes for these losses, as well as to establish how best to restore any lost progress and value.”
Rockstar has also launched a suite of GTA Online features at the Rockstar Games Social Club website that will have all GTA online player stats; will allow users to browse, rate and bookmark jobs; access job playlists and updated crew pages among other things.
