EE has ensured that customers who pre-ordered for Apple’s iPhone 6 with the deceased retailer Phones4U would still be able to get the handsets through its UK stores.
Mobile retailer Phones4U plunged into administration this Sunday after its key mobile supplier EE notified it would no longer continue business relationship with it. The retailer had earlier announced that it had cancelled all iPhone 6 orders and that it would refund all customers who pre-ordered for the device in full.
EE, however, has come forward to the rescue of customers and announced that it has a limited number of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets for Phones 4U customers, who have lost out by pre-ordering the new phone with bankrupt retailer.
“All across the country we have set aside iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets, enough for Phones 4U customers who pre-ordered iPhones on EE through Phones 4U,” an EE spokesman said.
Consumers will be required to bring along the Phones4U pre-order confirmation to an authorised EE brick-and-mortar retail store to get an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. However, it is to be noted that only those who subscribe to EE’s carrier contract will be eligible to get the handset. As the stock with the UK retailer is limited, the handsets will be offered on a first come first serve basis.
