Google is reportedly all set to launch its subscription service for YouTube – dubbed YouTube Music Key – and will rebrand its Google Play Music All Access to Google Play Music Key.
Reports about Google launching a paid ad-free subscription service for YouTube are not new and have been flowing in since early 2013, but the latest report from Android Police has some strong proofs that the service will indeed see light of the day.
To be available first on a free 30-day trial, the subscription service will be called YouTube Music Key and will allow users to listen to ad-free music, audio-only playback (for background or screen-off listening), and offline playback.

Once the 30-day free trial is over, users will be required to shell out $9.99 per month to continue enjoying the service and it seems that the subscription will include rebranded Google Play Music Key as well. The report notes that there is no clarity on whether existing subscribers of Play Music All Access will automatically gain access to the new service or not.
From the images in the report, it is clear that YouTube Music Key is going to offer mammoth of a collection – as many as 20 million high-quality tracks for starters – which will expand over period of time.
Beyond the official discographies, Music Key may also provide users with access to tons of other content including concert footage, covers, remixes among other things, but there is no indication as to what the service will finally offer.
From who.is records, YouTubeMusicKey.com is already registered to Google, but there is no indication on when will the service be launched.
