Update 8.0.10521.155 will take about 15 minutes to install and once done, your Lumia 1020 will be ready for the Cyan update, which will take up around 45 minutes – depending on your broadband connection speeds.
One of the best features in the Lumia Cyan update is the ability to add a third column of Live Tiles thereby allowing users to bring in more app shortcuts to their start screen.
Another great feature is the ability to set your favourite photo or image to your Start screen to further personalise your handset.
Action Centre is something that will remind you of Android and iOS (if you have used them) allowing users easy access to a range of functions including Flight Mode, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, rotation lock among other things. You can quickly checkout instant messages, emails, and SMS through the Action Centre as well.
Battery Sense, Data Sense, Storage Sense are three other great features that will allow you to keep an eye on your handset’s battery backup, 3G/4G data usage and storage usage respectively.
If you are looking for secure connectivity through to a remote computer you can also setup a VPN connection.
