The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has recently approved a 4G Nokia tablet dubbed RX-114 indicating that the Nokia World event is highly likely to see launch of much rumoured Lumia 2520.
Folks over at Nokia have actually done an excellent job in hiding the specifics about the tablet and if someone goes through the documentation, no details can be extracted except that the device submitted for approval is a tablet. The documentation contains diagrams of a slate-like device, but they don’t reveal any information about the exteriors or the internals of the tablet.
There are a couple of things that we can still make out though. First, the tablet supports 4G LTE and includes full support for HSPA+ and GSM / EDGE. Second, because of the connectivity options, the tablet will ideally work with all major carriers in the US – AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.
Nokia may have been sold to Microsoft, but it doesn’t mean that the company has taken a back seat. Nokia is planning to launch as many as six devices at its Nokia World event scheduled on October 22 in Abu Dhabi. We expect that a Windows RT tablet – probably the Lumia 2520 is one of those alongside the highly anticipated Lumia 1520.
Nokia may also reveal a couple of accessories including a keyfob-like, probably NFC or Bluetooth capable, which will allow users to control some aspects of their Lumia smartphones and the Lumia 2520. Further there were reports that Nokia may also launch a keyboard device that will go along with its tablet and a docking station as well.
