Microsoft’s The Last of Us: Remastered developed by 4J Studios has managed to ace the UK all formats chart on debut marking the fifth biggest launch of the year just behind ‘Infamous: Second Son’, data from Gfk Chart-Track reveals.
The Last of Us: Remastered managed to dethrone Watch Dogs, which had been on the charts for most of July. Despite a 3 per cent increase in sales week-on-week, Watch Dogs couldn’t match the sales of Last of Us: Remastered and had to suffice with second spot in the all formats chart.
Nearly every title in the top 10 this week saw increase in sales as compared to previous week and that is because school holidays are in full swing.
FIFA 14, with 12 per cent increase in week-on-week sales, managed to finish third; The Lego Movie Videogame saw a 27 per cent increase in sales and managed to finish fourth this week; Snipe Elite slipped down to seventh, but saw 3 per cent increase in sales.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition slipped to fifth while Minecraft: PS3 Edition retained its sixth position with 11 per cent and 22 per cent increase in sales.
Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 both managed to climb up the charts ladder by one position with 21 per cent and 24 per cent increase in sales.
Grand Theft Auto V was the only title in the top 10 that saw a 5 per cent decline in sales.
