Samsung is reportedly not going to include fingerprint sensor in Galaxy S5 or the Galaxy Note 3 Active as it is currently not developing the technology.
Apple included a fingerprint sensor in its iPhone 5S and it was anticipated that Samsung will follow suit by including one in its next Galaxy smartphone. But according to a report in Korean Herald, Samsung is not going to incorporate the feature in its next flagship devices as it is “not yet developing the technology.”
Samsung hold around 10 percent stake in Pantech – one of its rivals – which has already incorporated fingerprint scanning in some of its smartphones. It was believed that Samsung may license the technology from Pantech for use in its own devices, but Pantech’s technology still has a long way to go as compared to what Apple has on its iPhone 5S.
If this report does is indeed true, then it won’t be likely that curved / flexible display equipped Galaxy Note 3 will feature the technology, which is expected to launch sometime in October. As we reported earlier Samsung is likely to launch its YOUM flexible display equipped Galaxy Note 3 Active sometime next month.
Samsung is always one step behind in releasing its gadgets and just yesterday it announced its Galaxy S4 Gold to rival Apple’s iPhone 5S Gold.
