Samsung has joined the gold smartphone bandwagon and has announced a Galaxy S4 gold edition placing it in direct competition with Apple iPhone 5S gold.
Samsung Arabia teased two Galaxy S4 smartphones on its Facebook page – pink and brown – which will be dawned with a gold blackplate. It flaunted a press render of the Galaxy S4 Gold on Twitter as well.
There is no information about the pricing or availability of the phone, but it seems that as the announcement surfaced through Samsung’s Middle East team, UAE may be the first to get the new S4. Samsung’s decision of releasing a golden variant of its S4 smartphone is a direct result of the overwhelming success of iPhone 5S Gold, which has sold out from all Apple Store with online shipments being pushed back to October.
Apple announced a couple of days back that it managed to sell well over 9 million iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C within the first three days of its launch. According to reports, Apple has exhausted its iPhones 5S inventory and has already asked its manufacturing partners to ramp up the production to meet with the demands.
Apple hasn’t managed to move iPhone 5C in huge numbers because it is still available in Apple Stores as well as through its online store.
