The Pangu tool that was released to jailbreak iOS 7.1.1 devices supports the recently released iOS 7.1.2 and users can use it to apply an untethered jailbreak to their iDevices.
Apple released iOS 7.1.2 update yesterday and mainly incorporated security fixes to vulnerabilities, along with improvements to iBeacon connectivity and stability. One of the major fixes in the update is the security flaw related to email attachment encryption issue that could allow attackers to easily access files sent along with mails.
Pangu was released for iOS 7.1.1 devices last week and it could even jailbreak latest Apple devices including iPhone 5S and iPad Air. Pangu can be used to perform an untethered jailbreak meaning that users won’t be required to plug-in their iDevice to their laptop / desktop pc each time the device was restarted.
According to Redmond Pie their tests proved fruitful and they were able to jailbreak their iOS 7.1.2 devices as well without any issues. This isn’t surprising considering that the iOs 7.1.2 update didn’t incorporate a whole lot of bug fixes.
The real challenge for jailbreakers will be to get around the defences of final version of iOS 8; however, it seems that at least one hacker has managed to modify Pangu to support iOS Beta 2.
