Samsung’s Galaxy S5, Gear devices goes on sale in 125 countries

Samsung Electronics today launched its latest range of products, including the new Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Gear devices – Samsung Gear 2, Samsung Gear 2 Neo, and Samsung Gear Fit, in 125 markets across the world.

Samsung has confirmed that the products are now available to consumers in the “US, Europe, Middle East, Latin America, and most Asian markets.”

“The refined design and technological innovation of our new Galaxy S5 and Samsung Gear devices are the direct result of Samsung listening carefully to what consumers wanted in the next generation of mobile technology.” said JK Shin, CEO & President of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics.

“We carefully crafted each device to offer a sophisticated, superior mobile experience that let consumers stay connected in their own way to focus on what really matters to them.”

The Galaxy S5, which was unveiled back at MWC 2014, will feature a 5.1-inch full HD (1,080p) Super AMOLED display, a quad-core 2.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, a 2,800mAh battery and either 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage. The handset will pack a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera with a new heart rate sensor fitted under it.

The S5 combines superior network connectivity, dedicated fitness tools with S Health 3.0 and enhanced device protection features including IP67 dust and water resistance.

Samsung WatchON and Samsung Wallet are the two new features which will come along with the device. The Galaxy S5 is currently available in charcoal Black, shimmery White, electric Blue and copper Gold.

Next, Samsung’s latest range of Gear devices, both Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo will feature a 1.63-inch AMOLED display and 4GB of internal storage with a 300mAh battery and 512MB of RAM.

The Gear 2 is currently available in charcoal Black, gold Brown and the newly added wild Orange, while the Gear 2 Neo comes in charcoal Black, mocha Gray and wild Orange.

Last in the list, Samsung’s first wearable fitness device, the Gear Fit, will feature the industry’s first curved Super AMOLED display. The device will offer custom, real time fitness coaching personalized advice as well as workout recommendations.

The Gear Fit is currently available in charcoal Black, mocha Gray, and wild Orange, supreme Red, cobalt Blue and vital Green.
