Xbox One digital game prices of Ryse, Dead Rising 3 increased by a fiver in the UK

Digital game prices of Xbox One exclusive titles: Ryse, Forza Motorsport 5 and Dead Rising 3, have been increased by £5 in the UK without any prior intimation; however, hours after the price increase, Microsoft has confirmed that the prices have been increased as content pricing “is subject to change”.

Originally priced at £44.99, downloadable versions of all the Xbox One exclusive titles now cost £44.99. This is not the case with other titles from Microsoft including Crimson Dragon, Dead Rising 3: Premium Edition, Zoo Tycoon, among others and titles from other publishers as their pricing remains unchanged. The price rise came without any prior notification or any official statement.

However, after the prices were increased and reports of the same were published by some media outlets, Microsoft confirmed that prices of some of its titles have gone up and that “Digital content pricing is subject to change and we may occasionally offer various deals or promotions. Ultimately pricing and promotions will vary by region”, reports IGN.

When it comes to titles from other publishers, there is a disparity in pricing of downloadable games. Take for example FIFA 14. The title costs £60 on PS4 whereas it costs £55 on Xbox One.
