LG brings three new tablets to LG G Pad series

By  |

LG has announced three new tablets in its G Pad line-up to be launched at the MedPI 2014 on Tuesday May 13 in Monaco.

The new G Pad devices with 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1 screen sizes are expected to be just variants of the LG G Pad 8.3 which was released last September at IFA.

“Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizable screens without compromising portability,” Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics said in a statement.

“Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritize portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible. G Pad delivers on all counts.”

The tablets are expected to come with the popular Knock Code feature which lets users unlock the device with a series of configurable rhythmic taps for personalized security and unlocking. It allows two to eight taps in different sequences with a possibility of 80,000 different combinations.

The other interesting feature, said to have made its way to the devices, is the QPair which connects LG smartphones to the tablet to synchronize both via Bluetooth. This feature also allows users to send text messages on the tablet through the smartphone.

LG hasn’t revealed any information about the specifications or price or availability, but has shown off the tablets in different colours – G Pad 7.0 in blue, G Pad 8.0 and the 10.1 models in black and white.
