Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has managed to snatch the UK gaming charts No. 1 spot from FIFA 15 thereby claiming the Christmas No. 1 for the fifth time in the history of Call of Duty franchise.
CoD: AW made it to the top spot thanks to a 33 per cent jump in sales over last week as compared to just 9 per cent sales jump for FIFA 15. If we compare last year’s stats, FIFA 14 managed to register a late surge in sales leapfrogging Call of Duty: Ghosts to claim the top spot.
Grand Theft Auto V, Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed: Unity and The Crew all managed to see a jump in sales. GTA V continued to hold its third spot Far Cry 4 didn’t budge either from fourth place. Assassin’s Creed: Unity finished fifth from last week’s tenth spot and The Crew re-entered the top 10 at number six.
Elsewhere, Minecraft: Xbox Edition and Minecraft: PlayStation Edition found themselves on eighth and night spot while Destiny managed the seventh spot.
The week may have been fruitful for all those who continues to hold the top 20 spots, but Microsoft isn’t going to be too pleased with how last week has shaped up as Xbox One exclusives haven’t actually fared well. This is evident from Forza Horizon 2 which fell to No. 21 or Halo: The Master Chief Collection which is at No. 22 or Sunset Overdrive for that matter which was booted out of the top 40 completely.
