Apple’s next generation smartphone iPhone 6 has been the stuck in the rumours mills with a lot of speculations of the features, design, size and the launch date and adding to the list are the latest image leaks are about to the probable size, dimensions, and protruding rear camera of the phone.
French website iGen has posted a few screenshots depicting prototypes of long rumoured iPhone 6, which would be longer, wider and also thinner than iPhone 5s.
The pictures were captured in a Foxconn manufacturing facility detailing the design Apple’s upcoming 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch variants of the iPhone 6. Foxconn is said to have grabbed the total orders for manufacturing the larger models, and 50 percent of the orders of 4.7-inch variant, sharing the remaining with Pegatron.
Codenamed N61, the prototype of the 4.7” iPhone 6 measures 138.14 x 66.97 x 6.9 mm. The images reveal two prototypes of the 5.5” iPhone 6 handset with the factory designation of N56. The first unit measures 158.0 x 77.12 x 7 mm and 168.5 grams, while the second at 158.07 x 77.79 x 7.1 mm, tips the scale at 184.6 grams.
The iPhone 5s, with the factory moniker N51, is also included in the leaked images, thus giving us a clear picture of the difference in size which its successors will bring.
In both the upcoming iPhone 6 models the camera lens is likely to protrude slightly. Previous reports suggest that the flagship device will sport sapphire crystal screens, described as “unscratchable.”
Apple iPhone 6 4.7-inch model is likely to be unveiled next month, possibly on September 9, while rumours have it that the 5.5-inch model might arrive a bit later.
